Twelve teams currently. Friendly, laidback group of guys, many who have been playing against each other for 20 years in various leagues.

NBSFBL
The NBSFBL (Computer "Netplay" Football), entering its 3rd season, is a modern-day draft league with player salaries/team salary caps allowing for a balanced mix of player retention/player availability in each season's Free Agent (FA) Draft held when SoM releases the latest version of the game. The league has expanded to 24 teams for the 3rd season and will also hold an Expansion Draft in mid-August for the 4 new teams. After the FA Draft, each 50-player team then plays a 16-game schedule, 1 game per week, followed by the Playoffs. With expansion we're currently in need of several new team owners. Strat-O-Matic Home Field Advantage Football Trust (SHAFT) Website
SHAFT Football - Introduction and History
The SHAFT Strat-O-Matic Online Pro Football League has been around since Version 2 was released in the fall of 2002. SHAFT stands for Strat-O-Matic Home Field Advantage Football Trust. SHAFT is a stock team league that allows the home team to choose the rules they want for each game (with a couple of exceptions). Therefore, each coach will get to play with the rules they prefer for at least half of their games. For your home games you can choose to play with the rules that feel the most realistic to you or you can pick and choose in an attempt to gain an advantage against each specific opponent. It is up to you when you are at home!
The playoffs and tiebreakers are determined just like in the NFL for our postseason and SHAFT Bowl. We also offer an alternate playoff each year for teams that do not make the regular playoffs but that do exceed their actual NFL performance for that season. The formula for determining qualifiers has continually evolved over the years, but in general it gives partial “wins” for losses as long as you keep the score close.
SHAFT has replayed the most recent NFL season each year in the fall/winter using the latest version of the game since V2 was released. We have also completed the 1990 and 1979 seasons during two different off seasons and may return to doing another off season league this coming spring. For a complete history of SHAFT please visit http://www.geocities.com/shafthomepage/index. Here you can find links to all of our seasons and stats as well as single game records, season records, top 20 performances, and coaching records.
We are currently in the middle of the 2005 season. If you would like to get on our short waiting list please email me to discuss by using the CONTACT ME link on our home page above.
